Ta Da Dump,knitting and More

I have had questions lately about my dump. Yes it is a real dump where you take the garbage and this is the name of the road it is on cute huh. We have a heated, lovely room that people put things in that other people may be able to use. You would be surprised at what is left or maybe you wouldn't ha!
And here is my latest haul. These movies are brand new all the wrapping are still on.

And from the same box, still all wrapped. I have not tried it yet but for free hey I will give it a try.

On the knitting front I am making 2 needle mittens. For some reason the way the picture was taken it looks like the thumb is out of proportion but really it is not it fits great.

Dinner tonight was left overs in another form. I used hamburg but you could use ground turkey,
a lot of veggies, a can of low fat biscuits, some spaghetti sauce, and a healthy amount of cheese. kids would love this and a great way to sneak in veggies.

We had a little snow and then a lot of rain at freezing temps. Our driveway could of been used for luge trials. We skyped Miss Baby last night she is now licking the screen when she see us ha she makes us laugh so much. It is cold tonight so we are hugging the wood stove and playing cards. I won last time by 100 points which isn't much David is calling for a rematch. Stay warm and cozy.
Respect yourself. You're the best judge of what's right.

Cathy, I assumed ( and one should not assume) that when you got things from Da Dump, I thought that it was the name of a secondhand store, silly me.

How great that you are allowed to do that. What a great way to get rid of useful things that someone else may want.

You always find great stuff at the dump.

Your mittens looks great. You should share the recipe for your good looking meal.

We used to play cards years ago but very seldom play anymore. What a great way to pass time.
Stay warm and safe. Hugs, JB

I had no idea the road was really called that. You find the best stuff. I wish we had someplace like that here. What fun!

Cathy, is that a Currier and Ives platter holding that delicious looking meal? I have to say Stand By Me is one of our favorite movies here at Dog Trot Farm. Let us know how those foot "thingies" work. Stay warm, Julie.

OMG ..... That sign is awesome. Your dump fascinates me. Skype with Miss Baby sounds funny. Emmerson is not quite 3 months, so he just looks everywhere. I can't wait until he reacts.
We have an icy yard tonight too. Plus 8 at noon and minus 16 now.....crazy

I was curious about the dump too and I'm glad to see that there is a room and not a huge garbage pile that you can find your treasurers! My sister has one of those feet scrub thingies and she loves it, so enjoy and stay warm! Miss Baby sounds so cute and I bet you really do get a bit kick out of her..they're so sweet at her age!

Your dump posts always tickle me. Here in Baltimore County, if you try to grab something someone else is tossing, the earth moving machines will run you over. However, when Lou took piles of damaged signs we had sitting in the shop, the operator of the dump machines jumped out and took them.

Our dump has a mini building as well. I love it, in fact the dump guys know me all to well! LOL I can find all sorts of things to paint in there. Once I found three boxes of vintage china for my mom, all in perfect condition. And I found a vintage kitchen scale too, which I had been wanting one for a long time but wasn't going to pay the prices in an antique store. It always amazes me the things people throw out! Stand by me was my favorite movie(book) in high school, I would have grabbed that as well! LOL

Hi Cathy, the foot washer made me laugh - they were advertising them in the UK before Christmas and I threatened my OH NOT to get me one! Wish we had a sensible idea like that at the dump, I see such fabulous things sometimes but we're not allowed to take them as once they're placed there they belong to the local council..what a waste.
Miss Baby sounds SO funny :o) licking the screen.
Hope David is still doing well.
Sending love

Now I understand about Da Dump.At first I pictured you climbing the piles of garbage and coming out with all of these treasures.
I love when you tell about Miss Baby. She sounds like she's a bundle of fun.
We are waiting for a big snow.

I bet those were Christmas presents somebody didn't want! We have a trash and treasure at our dump (though it is now called a transfer station), but only in the summer time. Enjoy your knitting.
