Happpy Easter

I want to thank all of you sweet blogging friends for you much needed up lifting messages. I have  had a week of the poor pitiful me's which is so silly as I have so many blessings in my life. So I am shaking it off and getting on with life. I love this little chick that a friend gave when she was cleaning out her house to sell. It is a bit creepy but it is about 75-100 years old. It is a real chick. I would never buy something like this today but had to rescue her, she lives on my step back cupboard with her Easter bonnet.
Yesterday it snowed yep you saw it right, it snowed a fair amount. Oh spring are you on your way?
So I did what I always do when it snows. I make a very yummy soup if I do say so myself. It is in my new thrifted bowl which is just a perfect serving.....x2:)
and I dug out the bread machine. It made me feel a bit better to smell bread and soup cooking. and a whole lot better to eat it.
I am back to work tomorrow. I am feeling pretty good I know that I will be tired this week but I will do ok. Next weekend I am off to a hook in. I have never been to one so any thing I should know about what to take please feel free. I have been to camp and classes but not a hook in.
To those of you who asked about my sock bunny in the last post I did not make it. When I was first married my husband brought it home he had been away for a couple of days on a job and brought me him, I just love it. So sorry to say I have no pattern.
Happy Easter to you and hope that it is filled with many blessings.

I'm glad you're feeling better! I have to return to work tomorrow too. Your bread looks so yummy! I'm sorry you couldn't be with your grandbaby today. It does send one into the pitiful me place to be sick...especially over a holiday! I'll see you next weekend!
Happy Easter!
Hugs,
Courtney

Glad you are feeling better and your spirits are up. Sorry for the snow though. We are cool and drizzly here. Not good for the kiddies Easter egg hunt.

Sending an Easter {{hug}} I'm pleased you're feeling a little better, I do understand sometimes it's hard to 'shake it off'. Don't push yourself too hard at work - I'm sure they'll understand.

When I first looked at the chick I said to myself, "Gee it looks like a real chick"..hahaha...guess I can tell real from fake, but it is a bit creepy. I guess I'm glad it found a good home in your house! I'm also glad you are feeling better, although if it snows again here I will have to jump off a cliff or something! So sorry that Spring is not stopping by Acorn Hollow. Just enjoy the good soup, yummy bread and all the well wishes and stop snowing thoughts from your blogging friends!

I love your blog ~ so enjoyed reading through it and the lovely pictures too. Was happy to read you're feeling better ~ pneumonia is not a good thing to have. That little chick is really cute! I have chickens and a few of 'em I'd like to keep around "after" but won't, lol!
Hugs,
Marte

Cathy ~
Your hook-in will be great fun, but don't plan on doing much hooking. It's all about seeing what others are working on, chatting and buying wool!!! How fun that you will meet Courtney.
So glad you are feeling better.
Pug hugs :)

Happy to hear you're on the mend. I can't believe how much snow you got! We had some sun then it rained off and on.

I thought the chick was very cute ~ till you said it was real ~ that is a little creepy! Hook-ins are much fun but Lauren is right ~ not much hooking gets done! But you see lots of great rugs, meet lots of nice hookers and yes, you gotta buy some wool! Have fun!

Glad you are on the up swing. My daughter was on the computer looking at Plymouth and couldn't believe it was snowing. Yikes, enough is enough! Oh, soup and bread looks delicious.

Glad you are feeling better but that snow! NO! You poor thing! Please don't send it our way, it's finally starting to look like spring.

Cathy, thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. My frame is as good as new and I managed to hook a little each day except today.

I'm glad that you are feeling better. Is that a real taxidermy stuffed chick? I wouldn't know the difference. I'm sorry that I haven't visited , I haven't spent much time on the computer either. I only commented on a couple of blogs as I couldn't spare the time.

That bread sure looks yummy and so does the soup. I bought my husband a bread maker for Christmas and he just used it for the first time on Easter Vigil. His old one wore out from use.

I hope that your first day back at work went well and that you are getting some spring sunshine. JB

Honey I am so very sorry that you and your hubby have been so sick. I hate you had to cancel Easter. We did too but hated to hear yours was too.
I still can't believe the snow. Honestly I don't know how you do it. No wonder your making soup and homemade bread. lol
I hope you enjoy your hook in you so deserve to have a good time.
Thanks honey for taking the time to leave me such a sweet comment when you have so much going on yourself.
By the way I love the chick.
Love
Maggie
